Have you ever noticed how beneficial being alone can be? You learn so much about yourself, who you are, what you want out of life, or atleast what you want in the near future. If you're like me you're just stumbling through life on the path that everyone else points you to and when you figure something out you feel so accomplished. It's a day by day thing. You can't learn to fly without growing your own wings first. If you're one of those people who has been going strong since high school, you're successful and driven, take a step back and make sure you're doing what you want to do. Life can make you crazy or life can be a joy. Don't get so caught up in surviving that you forget about the real stuff- friends, family, love....cause sometimes I may seem to wander, to faulter, and to not go as fast as the others, but I will know what life is about.
Poem:

who is this...?

He says: glance at me
the looking glass
of perfect happiness
of relaxed simplicity
A ball of contentment
Unquestioned joy
Always, never ceasing
The careful balance
of the ideal~
Painted over
Covered up
His undaunted armor of life.
A Little Lesson About Life:
Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at a hospital, I got to know a little girl named Liz who was suffering from a rare and serious disease. Her only chance of recovery appeared to be a blood transfusion from her 5year old brother, who had miraculously survived the same disease and had developed the antibodies needed to combat the illness.
The doctor explained the situation to her little brother, and asked the little boy if he would be willing to give his blood to his sister. I saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a deep breath and saying, "Yes, I'll do it if it will save her."
As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed next to his sister and smiled, as we all did, seeing the color returning to her cheeks. Then his face grew pale and his smile faded. He looked up at the doctor and asked with a trembling voice, "Will I start to die right away?"
Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the doctor; he thought he was going to have to give his sister all of his blood in order to save her. You see, after all, understanding and attitude are everything.
